Mediterranean monk seal spotted on Kos

Mediterranean monk seals were spotted on a deserted beach in Kos. A sighting was reported last year, but it could not be documented in the picture, but this time it was possible.

The population of the Mediterranean monk seal is said to number 600 animals. 250-300 seals are said to live on the Greek and Turkish coasts alone, making them the largest Mediterranean monk seal population.
